La banda irlandesa anuncia su nuevo álbum Songs of Surrender, que será lanzado el próximo 17 de marzo y completa una trilogía con sus últimas obras Songs Of Innocence (2014) y Songs Of Experience (2017). El primero de ellos -ese que con un desastroso (o no) acuerdo con Apple metieron en millones de dispositivos sin permiso- hacía referencia a sus primeros años como banda y el algo más discreto segundo, que intentaba ahondar en los sonidos de sis últimos años.
Songs of Surrender es un disco de 40 canciones de la historia del grupo, recreadas nuevamente. Un complemento a la biografía de Bono que no consta de las mismas canciones, y que fue anticipado el pasado 9 de enero cuando 40 fanáticos del grupo comenzaron a recibir copias de una carta escrita a mano por The Edge, anunciando el álbum en la que comentaba «Cuando una canción se hace famosa, siempre se asocia con una voz en particular. No puedo pensar en “Tangled Up in Blue” sin el timbre de Bob Dylan o “All The Time in the World” sin la voz única de Louis Armstrong.
