El gobierno de la Ciudad finalizo las obras de mantenimiento y reparación en el Barrio Castex
Las tareas incluyeron la limpieza y reposición de rejillas pluviales, la construcción de rampas accesibles, la reparación de muretes y solados, y mejoras en bancos del espacio público.
En el marco de las acciones de mejora del espacio público, finalizaron las labores de mantenimiento y reparación en el Barrio Castex, ubicado en Crisóstomo Álvarez y Castañón en la Comuna 7. Las tareas tuvieron como objetivo principal preservar la funcionalidad y la estética del entorno urbano, interviniendo diversos elementos del mobiliario y la infraestructura barrial.
Entre los trabajos realizados, se destacó la reposición de rejillas de desagüe deterioradas, lo que permitió asegurar un adecuado drenaje del agua de lluvia y prevenir encharcamientos. Además, se llevó a cabo una limpieza exhaustiva de las rejillas pluviales, eliminando obstrucciones que dificultaban el flujo de agua.

Asimismo, se realizó una reparación integral de muretes de ladrillo visto, que delimitan distintas áreas del espacio público. En total, se intervinieron 260 metros lineales, lo que representa el 50% del total existente.
En el área de descanso, se llevó a cabo el reemplazo de venecitas por cemento alisado en 40 bancos, mejorando su durabilidad y estética. También se instalaron apoyabrazos de planchuela y respaldos de caño galvanizado, de 1,20 metros de longitud, brindando mayor comodidad a los usuarios.
Por último, se realizaron reparaciones en el solado de caucho del patio de juegos, lo que implicó el retiro del material dañado, la colocación de una nueva capa de caucho y el acarreo de residuos.
Estas acciones contribuyeron a mejorar la calidad de vida de los vecinos y a mantener en óptimas condiciones los espacios públicos del barrio.

As part of its efforts to enhance public spaces, the City Government has completed maintenance and repair work in the Castex neighborhood, located at Crisóstomo Álvarez and Castañón in District 7. The primary goal of these works was to preserve both the functionality and aesthetics of the urban environment by addressing various elements of neighborhood infrastructure and street furniture.
Among the improvements, key efforts included replacing deteriorated drainage grates to ensure proper rainwater runoff and prevent flooding. Additionally, a thorough cleaning of storm drains was carried out to remove blockages that impeded water flow.

Regarding accessibility, ramps were built in areas where there were previously steps, complying with current regulations and facilitating access for people with reduced mobility. The work included demolition, backfilling, and material transportation.
Additionally, a comprehensive repair of exposed brick retaining walls—which demarcate various public space areas—was carried out. In total, 260 linear meters were restored, representing 50% of the existing walls.
In the rest area, 40 benches were upgraded by replacing small tiles with smooth cement, improving both durability and aesthetics. Armrests made of metal plates and 1.20-meter-long galvanized pipe backrests were also installed, enhancing user comfort.
Finally, repairs were made to the rubber flooring in the playground, which involved removing damaged material, applying a new rubber layer, and disposing of waste.
These improvements have enhanced residents’ quality of life and helped maintain the neighborhood’s public spaces in optimal condition.
